At the moment, here in the UK, an outpatient appointment to see an ENT specialist is around 13-18 weeks. This is on top of getting an appointment to see your doctor to make the initial referral. Especially since the pandemic, many people across the country have struggled to get doctors’ appointments and continue to do so. Obviously when it comes to your own health, you want to see seen straight away!
Did you know, that you can schedule an appointment to see our audiologist at our clinic in Willerby, West Hull within a matter of days (usually the same week), and if necessary we can arrange an ENT referral for you.
Of course, an ENT referral won’t always be necessary, especially if we can determine the cause and solution to any ear or hearing difficulties and problems.
Our services range from Full Hearing Consultations to Tinnitus Support and Management.
A Tailor-Made Full Hearing Assessment consists of Traditional, Modern, & Scientific testing methods, which give us a full picture of your listening system and gain crucial data, which we use to deliver and maintain a stellar solution.
We take a detailed look at your hearing function and cognitive ability both in the practice, and in the real world. Unparalleled precision testing helps us determine the exact type of hearing loss you may be living with, and the degree of which that hearing loss exists.
Tinnitus is a condition in which you hear ringing or other disturbances in one or both of your ears. The noise you hear when you have tinnitus isn't caused by outside sounds. Tinnitus is a common issue, effecting 15% to 20% of the population and is most prevalent among the older generation, but it in fact can occur at any age. Tinnitus is typically caused by an underlying ailment, such as hearing loss, an ear injury, head trauma or a circulatory system problem. The majority of the time the cause of tinnitus is never found. Tinnitus often improves with treatment of the underlying cause or other treatments that lessen or conceal the noise, making tinnitus less obvious.
If you experiencing a blocked up feeling in your ears, finding it harder to hear than usual, any discomfort, itchiness, or abnormality, or you’ve been naughty and used ear buds to no avail?
With an initial assessment via the use of Video Otoscopy, we examine the condition of your outer ear (Pinna), ear canal (External Auditory Meatus, and ear drum (Tympanic Membrane).
Quite often we find that the main problem, is simply that our ears have produced too much wax (cerumen) and/or wax has not migrated out of the ear as well as we would like. Sometimes ear wax can become hard and uncomfortable and therefore difficult to shift without professional support.
We can swiftly remove stubborn ear wax and send you on your way feeling much better, cleaner, and healthier.
We can also fit, maintain, and offer a precision fine-tuning service for your hearing aids.
